On Feb 24, 1997, the Food and Drug Administration approved the use of
high doses of birth control pills as "emergency contraception." The
news media reported that large doses of birth control pills taken 72
hours after intercourse, can "prevent pregnancy." In reality, however,
this regimen aborts a pregnancy that has already begun. "Women...have a
right to know that these pill combinations are simply and early
abortion technique that kills a human being in her first stage of
development." - Eugene Rudd, Obstetrician and associate director of the
Christian Medical and Dental Society.
The CBS evening news account used some rather interesting language to
describe this event. "News tonight on another aspect of population
technology. Federal officials have now issued guidelines on how to
use birth control pills as emergency morning-after pills."
Population technology is another hygenic term to couch the real purpose
of this technique in ambiguity..it appears that even the term abortion
is too graphic these days. Abortion is now as easy as "take two asprin
and call me in the morning."
"Remember therefore the height from which you have fallen; repent and
do the first works or else I will come quickly and remove your
lampstand from its place -- unless you repent." (Rev 2:5)
