Will this Rosh Ha'Shanah (September 07, 2002) or some near-future Rosh Ha'Shanah be the start of a new page in history? Some say this holiday marks the rapture. Others say not the rapture, but it could mark the start of the 7-year Tribulation period. Yet others say it's neither. Based on how you count the years and what theory you subscribe to, it is exciting to contemplate that the rapture could be on on this or a Rosh Ha'Shanah in the very near future -- and that means we need to be ready.
I have been careful in the previous three-parts of this series (entitled "Rosh Ha'Shanah - Is it the rapture"), to state that it is not possible to be sure of the end of 6,000 years, which on our calendar,was around the turn of the century (as it has been revised and tampered with so many times). It could be late as 2012 by some calculations, but it remains, nonetheless, as an intriguing possibility that the time of our redemption is drawing near.
I also carefully indicated that the exact timing (day/hour) of the Rapture is not known and the exact timing should be irrelevant to us anyway -- as we should always be focused on Jesus; His work in us; and the living of holy and spotless lives (with an adequate supply of the oil of the Holy Spirit) so we will not be left behind.
Again, being pre-trib, mid-trib, post-trib, pre-wrath or no-trib should not in anyway hinder us from the goal of holiness and spirit-filled living. We should all be pan-trib and pro-Jesus, recognizing that if we are walking with Jesus on a daily basis (remember two can not walk together unless they be agreed; and that includes agreement with the Lord as to what is sin in our lives based in His Word) it will all pan out in the end.
So be assured, I am not setting THE DATE for the rapture, only pointing out an intriguing possibility and that possibility alone should motivate us to clean our spiritual house. After all Jesus told us the signs that would allow us to know that it "was right at the door" -- better answer His knock before it is too late and the door of grace shuts forever. Amen?

Whatever you believe with regard to such weighty issues as the rapture is of no consequence eternally -- unless you are walking with Jesus? Do you in fact agree with Jesus about the sin in your own life and have you repented and made Jesus Lord (Lord means you will do what He says to do). If you love Him, keep His commands -- You are either for Me or against Me - there is no middle ground -- if you are lukewarm, He will vomit you out of is mouth.

AMPHOLDER NEWSLETTER SPECIAL EDITION #3

EDITORIAL NOTE: God is Sovereign over the universe, His Creation. He and He alone determines the "time" of the catching away, the Millennial reign, and also the time of the end; but in regard to His timing, God is, and will always be, consistent with Scripture. Scripture is God's Word, and His Word is His Promise given to mankind.
This edition of The Lampholder is not intended to dampen the hopes and prayers of the faithful throughout the world on the soon return of Yeshua, Jesus Christ, but rather to strengthen you in the comfort that if the "rapture" is not this Rosh HaShanah, hold fast in prayer and wisdom, because it won't be long.... We believe that every day should be lived as if it is the ONE expected. Therefore, in regard to the letters we receive and the many news stories proclaiming this September 11, 1999, as the possible rapture date:
"It is well established in Scripture that God's "trumpet" will sound during (a season of) Rosh HaShanah, thereby fulfilling the 1 Cor 15:52 promise of the catching away. Even if Rosh HaShanah, starting September 10-11 (5760), of this year marked the 6,000th year, it still would mean that it was the BEGINNING of the 6,000th year and not the END. Remember, the END date for the 6,000 year time-line occurs at the "end" of the 6,000 years not at the beginning.--This would make it closer to Rosh HaShanah of next year (5761). The "end" of this Century, and the "approximate" end-date for the 6,000 year time-line doesn't occur until after the "end" of the year 2000 (based upon our modern-day calendar system). This would mean that the beginning of the Christian Millennium would begin in the year 2001.

A report last week on an unidentified light coming from the constellation of Serpens created quite a stir throughout the net. We reported on this in the Special Edition #2 of The Lampholder Newsletter. You may request back issues at
sammie@traveller.com. In a Sky and Telescope News Bulletin of August 20, 1999, they interestingly mentioned this unidentified light as an,
"OVERHYPED 'MYSTERY OBJECT': The popular press was abuzz this week over a 'mystery object' in the sky. Unfortunately, there just isn't much to say about it yet."

All sorts of theories are predetermining what this strange light could mean. Some people associate it with the "New Jerusalem" coming down from heaven, or perhaps a possible "doomsday comet or meteor," and others claim the light to be an "alien spaceship" that is fast approaching Earth. Before we go forward with speculation, let's look back into ancient prophecy and some interesting information revealed on this sector of the heavens.
In the ancient names depicting the 12 chief deities of Graeco-Roman mythology, the Roman name of DIANA is the feminine for the the Tribe of Dan, meaning "ruler," and ARTEMIS is the Greek, meaning "who cometh." The Roman name, Diana, and the Greek name, Artemis, are found depicted in "the circle of 12 gods" representing (the feminine side of) Sagittarius. Not to make this explanation too complicated, but the sector of the heavens in ancient prophecy between the constellations of Aquarius and Scorpius was known as "the window." The window has a very, very important two-fold meaning: to the early Messianic Christians this was the "the window" or "doorway" to heaven associated with the "resurrection, catching away, or rapture." The Romans borrowed the idea which came to be associated with the "Roman god of beginnings." Now, the Roman god of beginnings was Janus, the door god, whose counterpart was the feminine, Jana. Jana was another name for DIANA (remember in the above paragraph Diana was the feminine side of Sagittarius).
The reason the "doorway" is so important is because this is the passageway through to the outer heavens, and was blocked by Satan until the time of Yeshua. Yeshua opened the "doorway" to heaven through his life, death, and resurrection, but this sector of the heavens is still part of Satan's domain until the final judgment. AND this is where the "false christ" will be described in prophecy.
The ancient Rabbins gave the Hebrew root for the constellation of Sagittarius as "Heth" (or "Cheth") and means "Terrorem" or "Terror." A later Hebrew noun for the constellation Sagittarius interpreted "Cheth" as "a living animal (beast)" (see Genesis1:30.)
Briefly, the planets, Jupiter and Saturn, have anciently been assigned to the anti-christ's "reign of terror." "Satur," "Satr," or "star" are the ominous names associated with Saturn, and Saturn is another name for Satan. In the ancient Hebrew, Saturn also represented "rest," but it was a time of rest for the righteous associated with the Sabbath, the 7th Day Rest, and the Millennial "rest" of the 7,000th year. Nisroch, the eagle-headed human, is an emblem for the heavenly sector of Sagittarius/Scorpius, sometimes depicted as the winged-sun disk. The name, Nimrod, also belongs to this sector of constellations, and Nimrod comes from the Semitic root "marad," meaning "to rebel."
Here's a puzzle for you, and its easy to solve when you have all of the pieces:
the constellation, Sagittarius, the Milky Way's galactic center
Draco, the dragon, is located coiled in the heavens at the point called the "absolute north".
the (ancient) Tribe of Dan, the North "terror" "beast"
The Sagittarius/Scorpius constellations have been assigned by the ancients to the Seat of Satan, as god of this present age and lord of the northern black void. He was known as the ancient serpent in the Garden of Eden; lord of idols, prince of false gods; a 7-headed sea monster known as Leviathan; Nimrod, the king of Babylon; the Phoenician King of Tyre, and prince of the power of the air (Eph. 2:2) where he ascends to the "north" in Isaiah 14, to overthrow God, establish his throne, and thereby rule over the entire universe.
According to ancient Mayan legend, the end of the world will occur at the Winter Solstice in the darkest sector of the constellation of Sagittarius in A.D. 2012, when the Solstice point conjuncts the Milky Way and Sagittarius. An end-date more in alignment with the Bible has also been calculated from the Egyptian zodiac of Denderah, and hinted at in the configurations of the Egyptian pyramids.
The oldest of legends tell of the end of the Age at the "end" of the 6000th Millennium. This would be obvious in the form of several different celestial phenomenon. One being the Cherubic formation found in the four-square shape of the constellations of Taurus, Aquarius, Scorpius, and Leo of both Ezekiel and Revelation marking the introduction into the next Millennium. A similar conjunction of this type occurred in August of 1999 and will be furthered in May of 2000. Sometime after this event (the approximate timing to be covered later), the heavens would birth a giant comet/meteor (coming from the Sagittarius/Scorpius constellations) which would purposely plot a destructive course toward Earth (see Revelation 13, "Wormwood"--Wormwood is an herb associated with paralysis and death). The great, Roman historian/philosopher, Pliny the Elder, described this event as "a terrible comet" having a "fiery appearance." (2)-- Interestingly, in July of 1995, the gaseous comet "Hale-Bopp" was observed traveling through the constellation Sagittarius (now Capricornus due to the Precession of Equinox). Many thought this to be the infamous "Wormwood" comet of prophecy.
In the Book of Revelation, John reveals a symbolic picture of the "beast" in the first of the Seals of Revelation 6:1. In the last Special Edition of The Lampholder Newsletter you read:
...AND HERE IS CONNECTED THE PROPHECY AND REVELATION:
In the Book of Revelation 5:9-12, reveals only One who is "worthy" to open the Seals of Revelation, and it is the One, "...slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation...Worthy is the Lamb" [the Messiah, Jesus Christ]. The Seals of Revelation begin the reign of the anti-christ during the tribulation, and the tribulation begins "only" after the Seals are opened by the Lamb-- "with permission" (Rev. 6:1). In Rolleston's work on the "gospel in the stars" she places Revelation 5, corresponding to Jesus Christ, but there is more than sufficient evidence to prove otherwise. Are you beginning to see the picture? This may puzzle some of our readers, but we are attempting to explain this in the simplest of terms, because it is a most difficult subject to paraphrase. At this point, history, the constellations, and Biblical prophecy begin to align for our time-period.
